Prospective jurors across Pleasant Hill, Martinez, Concord, and the wider Diablo Valley will soon experience a more predictable courthouse reporting calendar under an administrative overhaul announced this month by the Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa. Beginning in January 2027, the court's Jury Services Division will transition to a unified weekly jury summons cycle designed to streamline trial panel assignments across its Martinez, Walnut Creek, Pittsburg, and Richmond courthouses.

Court administrators in downtown Martinez explained that the updated scheduling architecture aligns juror call-in groups with weekly criminal and civil courtroom calendars managed by the Presiding Judge and trial departments at the Wakefield Taylor Courthouse on Court Street and the A.F. Bray Courthouse. By organizing summoned citizens into clearly defined weekly standby cohorts—while retaining California's statutory "One-Day or One-Trial" completion guarantee—the court reduces mid-week carryover confusion and allows employers and families to plan work and childcare coverage in advance.

In preparation for the January 2027 rollout, the Superior Court is upgrading its online juror portal so summoned Contra Costa County residents can complete eligibility questionnaires, request one-time date postponements up to ninety days, and enroll in automated text-message and email reporting alerts without waiting on telephone hold lines. Jurors assigned to standby groups check their reporting instructions online after 5:00 p.m. each evening during their designated week and only travel to a courthouse if their group number is actively called for courtroom voir dire.

Court officials also reminded residents that legitimate Contra Costa County jury summonses are sent exclusively by U.S. mail and that court staff never telephone residents demanding payment or personal financial details for missed service. Diablo Valley residents can review current reporting instructions, public transit directions to Martinez courthouses, and employer verification policies at cc-courts.org.
